ITAR-TASS // The technical aspects of safety of NPP "Аkkuyu", which Russia is constructing in Turkey, will be revised. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Таner Yildiz, has said about it today in his interview to TV-channel Bloomberg HT. "No one can be indifferent to the earthquake in Japan. Everybody is keeping a close eye on the events in this country. We share the concern of our citizens and shall revise the aspects of safety of the NPP “Akkuyu” project”, - T.Yildiz said. He said that after the accident in the Japanese NPP "Fukushima" the number of opponents of the nuclear power plant construction in Turkey had increased. As it was explained by the Minister, the Turkish and Russian parties were going to analyze 88 design principles and regulations concerning the NPP safety and its tolerance to various external and internal emergency factors. "I would like to emphasize that it will be the most reliable construction in Turkey ", T.Yildiz noted. As he said, similar high safety requirements would be applied also to construction of the second NPP in Sinop.
