Contract for implementation of stabilization activities at the “Shelter” Facility
“Atomstroyexport” company as a leader of the Stabilization Consortium has successfully completed the contract for implementation of stabilization activities at the “Shelter” Facility at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
The contract was concluded in 2004 within implementation of SIP program (“Shelter” Facility implementation plan) financed by the “Shelter” International Foundation. The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development is the fund manager. The consortium also includes Ukrainian enterprises “Yuzhteploenergomontazh”, “Atomenergostroyproject” as well as “Rovno NUCLEAR POWER PLANT Construction Management”.
The main contract work was completed in December 2006 as specified in the schedule. “Atomstroyexport” became the only company working at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant which obtained customer certificate for the high quality of work.
Contract for implementation of safety improvements to the “Shelter” Facility
On 10th of January 2008 the contract for implementation of work to improve the safety of the “Shelter” Facility, including repair of the cover was concluded between state specialized enterprise Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the “Stabilization” consortium in the lead of JSC “Atomstroyexport”.
Works for safety work on the “Shelter” Facility were completed at the beginning of August 2008, a month ahead of schedule. On November 13, 2009 the state specialized enterprise ”Chernobyl NPP” issued the certificate of completion of the contract “Enhancement of Shelter Project Safety" to the "Stabilization” Consortium, which leader is Atomstroyexport JSC. The management of Chernobyl NPP sent the letter to the president of Atomstroyexport JSC with the expression of gratitude for the successful completion of the works performed with a high level of safety, appropriate quality and within the limits of the project budget. High professionalism in planning and management, demonstrated by Atomstroyexport JSC during realization of the project, was also noted by Mr. L. Dodd, Director of the international project management group.
